Until a few years ago, the N. family was a regular, normative family. A traumatic event left the father emotionally wounded, and he has since required multiple hospitalizations due to his unstable condition.
One can only imagine the burden that fell on the shoulders of the mother, who is trying to raise the children with dedication and as much calm as possible—while also carrying the heavy weight of providing for the family on her own.
Now, they are approaching the Bar Mitzvah of their eldest son, and the mother has no idea how she will be able to celebrate this meaningful event when she is barely managing their daily needs.
